We are very pleased to introduce you to our new colleague Pyry Pentikäinen who joined the Kjeller Vindteknikk team this June!
Pyry has a MSc in Meteorology from the University of Helsinki and is currently on the latter stages of getting a PhD in Atmospheric sciences. He will be finishing his PhD thesis by the end of 2023, while working simultaneously at Kjeller Vindteknikk. Pyry’s research has focused on studying the winds and turbulence in the atmospheric boundary layer with Doppler lidars and the development of data processing methods for the Doppler lidar.
Pyry is part of the Finnish team located at the Espoo office.
What brought you to Kjeller Vindteknikk?
I had been thinking about working in the wind energy sector for a longer time, as it is a field where I could use my skills and knowledge to contribute to the transition to renewable energy. When I saw the announcement for a position at Kjeller Vindteknikk, I decided that I should apply even though I’ve yet to complete my PhD. I’m grateful that everyone at Kjeller is supportive of me finishing my PhD while working here.
What are your expectations towards working at Kjeller Vindteknikk?
I’m looking towards working in a friendly and supportive environment where accountability and quality of work are valued. I’m expecting to work on varied tasks which will increase my expertise on new topics.
Welcome to the team Pyry!
